The APPOfficial App Demo of "Ride of the Assumption".
The app brings on your mobile devices all information and curiosities on the Ride of the Assumption, the oldest Italian historical commemoration that plays procession, religious celebrations and related tournaments, since 1182, the patronal feast of the Assumption.
Navigate to different sections of the app, and has an extensive image gallery, you can find out the details of the historical re-search for contacts in your organization and the ten contrade fermane, retrace the emotions of the event with movies of the most important parts of each edition.
The app is a demo version as it is a wrap of www.cavalcatadellassunta.it web site within an Android app which is why some features and user experiences are limited.
The project was developed in collaboration with the Association Ride Assumption and EmmezeroDesign of Mariorosario Prist who oversaw the development, and with the sponsorship of the City of Fermo.THE HISTORY OF THE RIDEEvery year in Fermo, on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption, commemorates an ancient parade: The Ride of the Assumption.
The Ride of the Assumption was the processional parade in which the main participants on horseback paraded that, by the light of torches and candles - was therefore also called "Luminaria" - the evening of August 14, the eve of the festival, started from the Church of Santa Lucia, in the west of the city, went back along the course, would make a stop in Piazza Grande, until it reaches the Cathedral to offer the traditional candles and gifts to the Heavenly Patroness.
